The Hunt for Christmas Turkey

December 21st – the hunt for Christmas turkey

The veggies of the household are sorted for Christmas day with Root Veg Tarte Tartin and a nut roast served with a rosemary and thyme gravy but, alas, I have neglected to order a turkey crown for the carnivores. Not one to panic an impromptu trip to Whiterow Farm Shop and Cafe with the children after the last day of term for hot chocolate and cake and present buying for grandad sorted out this oversight. There waiting for us was a turkey. We settled not for the glorious specimen above but a plump looking crown and carried it home for Christmas. Free range, locally reared and certain to provide a decent dinner, plenty of sandwiches, leftovers for grandad when we visit him and uber amounts of soup.
