Cally
makes a range of preserves, herb jellies and vinegars using the produce from her potager, supplementing it with seasonal local or in the case of citrus fruits fairtrade produce.
Everything is handmade in small batches in the farmhouse kitchen. Above all, it is seasonal. Most products are available for only a liited period. We like it that way.
Details of what’s available is posted up here on a regular basis. Alternatively contact Cally and she’ll tell you what’s currently in production.
At the moment we have some scrumptious marmalades…all priced at £3.50 for a 320g jar.
chunky Seville orange
three fruit
orange and ginger
whisky
spicy red onion
Just available but better left to mature for a few weeks is a new rhubarb and ginger chutney, perfect with vintage cheddar or cold meat.
We also have some delicious dandelion petal jelly.
Hi, just popping over after reading your lovely post on the Higgledy Garden blog. Just think what you are doing is absolutely fantastic, totally chimes with my feelings about gardens, food, kids and the great outdoors. In another life I would have loved to do something similar, but precious metals came and stole my heart!! In the meantime encouraging my four to appreciate and enjoy nature (sometimes tricky with teens!), and growing flowers to sell locally is keeping the soil under my fingernails. Belinda x
Hi Belinda,
You sound like one busy lady. If you catch them when they’re young I guess they’ll come back to it eventually. Your pics are luvverly!
How lovely to find your beautiful blog, it looks so interesting. I used to teach children/teens to cook (Sticky Fingers) and now do a little cookery blog about cooking with my own children (http://mixmashandmunch.blogspot.com) I am always looking for bits of work if you ever need any helpers, I’m based near Malmesbury in Wilts. I’m also foodwriting for Tracklements at the moment making chutneys and relishes, lots of fun. Looking forward to your blog posts.
Wonderful and a preserver after my own heart! Lovely to meet you on twitter, I am now following your blog too. Karen @ Lavender and Lovage
Thanks Karen. You too. I look forward to exchanging recipe ideas.
